The dental implant step-by-step procedure

Step 1: Consultation and planning. Dr. Baker examines your mouth, reviews images, discusses your medical history, and determines whether implants may be appropriate.

Step 2: Surgical placement. Using treatment planning information and 3D imaging when indicated, Dr. Baker places the titanium implant post beneath the gumline and into the jawbone. The implant post acts as the replacement tooth root.

Step 3: Healing and integration. Over the next several months, the jawbone heals around the implant post. During this stage, a temporary restoration or transitional appliance may be discussed based on your case and cosmetic needs.

Step 4: Final restoration. Once the implant is ready, Dr. Baker designs and attaches the final crown, bridge, or denture restoration. The restoration is planned to fit your bite and blend with your surrounding smile.
